When Southern bride Catherine Kelly receives word that her new husband, Andrew, has been critically wounded in a battle between North and South and is coming home, she realizes she barely knows him, and is wholly unprepared for the sight that meets her eyes once Apostle descends from the train at the Capital of virginia depot. Shortly subsequently she meets a dashing newspaper correspondent who does no private secret of his attraction to her, and throws her into further turmoil.
